This week, American Idol will do away with the contest proper and will be showing Idol Gives Back, a yearly event where big stars attend, perform, show their faces on camera and then people give their money. The show intends to raise a $100M charity fund from doing this event a second time.
I wasn’t able to watch how this went last year. It had Celine Dion as its biggest star, and I am not exactly thrilled with her nor her music. This year though, I’m gonna tune to it because Band From TV is performing!
Band From TV is composed of actors and crew members working on television. And they’re using their gift of music to do good work. Every gig the band gets, proceeds would go to the charity of their choice.
The band is Greg Grunburg’s idea. You probably remember his as Parkman on Heroes. He’s solidly behind epilepsy awareness, since from what I can remember, his son is afflicted with it. Greg plays drums for the band. Its other members are:
